Saturday was one of those glorious spring days in the Chihuahuan Desert. A group of 14 hikers made their way back to Cattail Falls with Joselyn Fenstermacher serving as our guide. Joselyn did a wonderful job of identifying plants and talking to us about the plant communities on the way.

The spring has been cool, so we didn’t see many things in bloom yet. The orchids were just poking their leaves above ground. The maidenhair ferns were lush, and the falls were…falling.
