Blues are very small butterflies that have a rapid, bouncy flight. Blues will test your patience, as they fly low to the ground, bouncing up and down and never quite landing.
The Reakirt’s and Marine blues are by far the most common blues at the Nature Center and can be found almost everywhere. The tiny Western Pygmy Blue is the smallest butterfly in North America. It–and the Acmon Blue–are frequently seen nectaring on flowers. The Cyna Blue and the Ceraunus Blue are very rare here.
